Introduction
Promoting blood circulation and resolving blood stasis generally does not involve a single “best” remedy; commonly used herbs and foods include hawthorn, dried ginger, black fungus (wood ear), red dates, and Panax notoginseng powder. 1. Hawthorn: Facilitates smooth circulation of Qi and blood; consumption of hawthorn helps resolve blood stasis. Panax notoginseng powder both stops bleeding and disperses stasis while also nourishing the blood. 2. Dried ginger: When prepared as a decoction and consumed orally, dried ginger effectively promotes blood circulation, resolves blood stasis, and alleviates pain by unblocking meridians. Additionally, herbal preparations such as Yimucao Granules may be used for this purpose.

There is generally no single “best” food for promoting blood circulation and resolving blood stasis. However, certain foods—such as hawthorn berries, dried ginger, black fungus (wood ear), and red dates—may be consumed in moderation to help alleviate symptoms. While these foods may provide symptomatic relief, they do not constitute definitive treatment for underlying conditions; when necessary, Sanqi powder (Panax notoginseng powder) may be used.

1. Hawthorn berries: In cases of blood stasis or circulatory obstruction, moderate consumption of hawthorn berries can effectively improve the flow of Qi and blood. Regular intake may also help resolve localized blood stasis. When needed, Sanqi powder may be administered under medical guidance to achieve hemostatic, blood-stasis-resolving, analgesic, and blood-enriching effects.

2. Dried ginger: When prepared as a decoction and consumed as tea, dried ginger effectively promotes blood circulation, resolves blood stasis, relieves pain, and unblocks meridians. For female patients experiencing Qi and blood stagnation or menstrual irregularities in daily life, drinking an appropriate amount of dried ginger tea may serve as an adjunctive therapy for regulating menstruation and resolving blood stasis. When required, pharmacological treatment—including Yimucao granules (Leonurus heterophyllus granules) and liver-qi-regulating herbs—may be prescribed under a physician’s supervision.
