A one-and-a-half-year-old baby refuses to eat after vomiting.
A 1.5-year-old toddler who vomits and subsequently refuses food typically does so due to gastric indigestion and gastrointestinal discomfort; gastritis may also be a contributing factor. Treatment options include medications such as Wang’s Baochi Pills and Pediatric Chicken Gizzard Lining (Ji Nei Jin), as well as appropriate use of digestive-strengthening and food-eliminating tablets.
1. Gastric Indigestion: When infants experience gastric indigestion, symptoms commonly include vomiting and gastrointestinal dysfunction. Under a physician’s guidance, Wang’s Baochi Pills may be administered for treatment.
2. Gastrointestinal Discomfort: Vomiting in young children is often triggered by gastrointestinal upset following exposure to cold. Gentle abdominal massage may help alleviate symptoms. Pediatric Chicken Gizzard Lining (Ji Nei Jin) can also be used to treat abdominal distension, food stagnation, nausea, vomiting, and poor appetite.
3. Gastritis: When a child vomits and refuses food, pharyngeal inflammation may be present; however, gastric inflammation cannot be ruled out as an underlying cause. Digestive-strengthening and food-eliminating tablets may be used for treatment.
