Is Fuzi Lizhong Wan effective for treating eczema?
Fuzi Lizhong Wan demonstrates some therapeutic effect in the treatment of eczema.
Mechanism of Action:
Fuzi Lizhong Wan strengthens the Spleen and warms the Middle Jiao, primarily addressing dampness in the Middle Jiao. Eczema itself is not caused by damp-heat; however, individuals with a damp-heat constitution are more susceptible to developing eczema. Therefore, Fuzi Lizhong Wan may help improve a damp-heat constitution and thereby exert an indirect therapeutic effect. Nevertheless, it is not the most appropriate or optimal treatment for eczema.
General Precautions:
Avoid various external irritants, such as hot-water washing, excessive scratching or cleansing, and contact with potential allergens (e.g., fur-based products). Minimize exposure to chemical agents, including soaps, laundry detergents, and dishwashing liquids. Avoid foods that may trigger allergic reactions or irritation, such as chili peppers, strong tea, coffee, and alcoholic beverages.
Eczema has complex etiologies and frequently recurs even after clinical improvement, making it difficult to cure definitively. Due to variations in clinical presentation and lesion location, treatment must be individualized. Therefore, therapy should always be guided by a qualified healthcare professional—self-medication is strongly discouraged.
