Introduction
After an induced abortion, lying on the right side—i.e., maintaining a right lateral decubitus position—is beneficial for the uterus. First, raise the bed rail on the opposite (left) side. Then walk to the bedside and sit down. Next, transition from sitting to lying down, and finally turn slowly onto your right side to maintain the right lateral position. You may bend both knees while lying on your right side, with both hands placed comfortably to avoid pressure on the heart.

After undergoing an induced abortion, women may experience discomfort such as abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Maintaining a right lateral decubitus position—i.e., lying on the right side—is beneficial for the uterus, helping to alleviate symptoms and promote uterine recovery. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Raise the bed rail on the opposite side and, with assistance from a nurse or companion, slowly walk to the bedside and sit down;

2. Grasp both bed rails with your hands and carefully transition from sitting to lying supine in the center of the bed;

3. Firmly grasp the right-side bed rail and gently roll onto your right side. Adjust the pillow so it is centered beneath your head, maintaining the right lateral decubitus position. Bend both knees and lie comfortably on your right side, placing your hands in relaxed, non-restrictive positions—avoiding pressure on the heart.
