Introduction
Abnormal vaginal discharge can be treated with Fuyanjie. Fuyanjie rapidly inhibits pathogenic microorganisms such as *Staphylococcus aureus*, fungi, and *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, and is indicated for bacterial, trichomonal, fungal, and mixed gynecological vaginal infections. It may also be used for cleansing and disinfection during the postpartum period, menstruation, after induced abortion, and before and after sexual intercourse; to eliminate vaginal odor, reduce vaginal secretions, and support routine feminine hygiene.

Leukorrhea is a thin, viscous, yet non-sticky fluid secreted by the cervical glands in women. Under normal circumstances, leukorrhea secretion is minimal; however, it may increase significantly before menstruation or during ovulation. Such an increase is typically physiological and odorless. In cases of increased leukorrhea, can Fuyanjie (a herbal vaginal wash) be used?

Can Fuyanjie be used for increased leukorrhea?

Fuyanjie is indicated for abnormal leukorrhea. It rapidly inhibits pathogenic microorganisms such as *Staphylococcus aureus*, fungi, and *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, and is suitable for bacterial, trichomonal, fungal, and mixed gynecological vaginal infections. It may also be used for cleansing and disinfection during the puerperium, menstruation, after artificial abortion, and before or after sexual intercourse; it helps eliminate vaginal odor, reduce secretions, and maintain routine genital hygiene.

Fuyanjie vaginal wash is a commonly used topical gynecological preparation, traditionally valued for its functions of clearing heat, eliminating dampness, killing parasites, and relieving pruritus. Under normal conditions, the vagina and external genitalia maintain slight moisture due to small amounts of natural secretions—termed “leukorrhea.” These secretions originate from vaginal mucosal exudates, cervical gland secretions, and endometrial secretions, and include desquamated vaginal epithelial cells and white blood cells. Normal leukorrhea is white, odorless, and its volume and consistency vary with physiological changes in the body.

An increase in volume or alteration in consistency is termed pathological leukorrhea. Abnormal increases or changes in leukorrhea are associated with numerous gynecological conditions, including vulvitis, vaginitis, cervicitis, endometritis, and salpingo-oophoritis (adnexitis). Prompt medical evaluation at a healthcare facility is recommended. We hope this information is helpful to you!
