Treatment of Athlete’s Foot
For adults, athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) is an especially common dermatological condition, primarily caused by poor personal hygiene and fungal infection. At this stage, patients’ symptoms may vary significantly—some experience severe itching, while others exhibit noticeable skin peeling. So, how is athlete’s foot treated?
Treatment of Athlete’s Foot
Athlete’s foot can be effectively treated with topical medications. After soaking the feet in water, patients should apply Jinda Kang antifungal ointment evenly to both feet—paying particular attention to the toes and soles. Following application, gently massaging the entire foot helps enhance absorption of the active ingredients and improves eradication of fungi residing in the dermis. Even after symptoms have resolved, treatment should continue for an additional week. Additionally, patients may alternate between compound salicylic acid alcohol solution and compound benzoic acid ointment, applying each once daily—morning and evening, respectively.

Athlete’s foot may arise from certain lifestyle habits. Feet tend to sweat profusely, and moisture retained on the skin creates an ideal environment for fungal growth. Moreover, poor personal hygiene—such as sharing footwear or towels with others—significantly increases the risk of infection.

Patients are advised to include foods rich in vitamin B and vitamin C in their diet. We hope this information proves helpful.
