Introduction
Drinking unboiled water mixed with boiled water over a long period may lead to ascariasis due to infection with *Ascaris* eggs, resulting in gastrointestinal dysfunction. It may also cause bacterial dysentery, manifesting as abnormal symptoms such as fever, chills, and abdominal pain. Moreover, because pathogenic microorganisms are not completely eradicated, viral infection may occur, leading to acute gastroenteritis and subsequent damage to gastrointestinal function.

Long-term consumption of unboiled water mixed with boiled water may lead to ascariasis, bacterial dysentery, and acute gastroenteritis.

1. Ascariasis: Raw water commonly contains Ascaris eggs. Simply mixing raw water with boiled water generally fails to completely inactivate these eggs. Prolonged ingestion may result in Ascaris infection—particularly when the individual’s immune function is compromised—leading to ascariasis and subsequent gastrointestinal dysfunction.

2. Bacterial Dysentery: Raw water may harbor pathogenic bacteria. If the water temperature does not reach a sufficiently high level, these pathogens are unlikely to be fully eradicated. Thus, long-term consumption of raw water mixed with boiled water may cause bacterial dysentery, manifesting as fever, chills, abdominal pain, and other abnormal symptoms.

3. Acute Gastroenteritis: If raw water contains pathogenic microorganisms such as rotavirus or enteric adenovirus, these agents typically survive dilution with boiled water and remain infectious. Ingestion may therefore result in viral infection and acute gastroenteritis, causing damage to gastrointestinal function.
