How to Take Yuting
Yuting is an emergency contraceptive pill used as an “urgent” remedial measure following unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure, aimed at preventing pregnancy, reducing the need for abortion, and safeguarding women’s physical and mental health. So, how should Yuting be taken?
How to Take Yuting
Yuting is an emergency contraceptive pill. The recommended regimen is to take four tablets within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse, followed by another four tablets 12 hours later. Alternatively, levonorgestrel tablets (containing 0.75 mg levonorgestrel) may be used: one tablet should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse, with a second tablet administered 12 hours later. The sooner the medication is taken, the more effective it is. When taken within 12 hours after intercourse, efficacy exceeds 85%. However, if menstruation is delayed by more than one week following use of emergency contraception, this should be considered contraceptive failure.

If nausea, vomiting, or dizziness occurs after taking the pill, bed rest is advised. Symptoms typically subside within 1–2 hours, and most individuals recover fully. During this time, increased fluid intake is recommended if discomfort persists. Generally, such symptoms resolve completely on the same day. Yuting should be taken on an empty stomach—i.e., avoid eating for two hours before and two hours after dosing. Should adverse effects occur, symptomatic management is necessary. Emergency contraceptives are intended solely for urgent use and should not be used routinely. Frequent use may disrupt menstrual cycles.

For women who do not wish to become pregnant, appropriate contraceptive measures should be implemented proactively to protect their health. We hope this information has been helpful. Wishing you good health and happiness!
