How to Remove Tonsil Stones
Oral health is extremely important. However, in real life, the incidence of oral diseases remains high. In addition to common oral inflammations, many people notice numerous small white spots inside their mouths. While most recognize this as an abnormal condition, few understand its specific cause—so how are tonsil stones removed?
How to Remove Tonsil Stones
Tonsil stones should be treated by an otolaryngologist (ENT specialist). The doctor will remove the stones using appropriate instruments. First, the physician prepares necessary tools—including a mouth mirror, flashlight, forceps, cotton swabs, and tissues. Next, the patient opens their mouth wide while the physician uses the flashlight for illumination and carefully extracts the stones with sterile forceps. Excessive force must be avoided to prevent local swelling, obstruction of crypt openings, or deep-seated tonsillar inflammation.

Tonsil stones typically form within the tonsillar crypts, often due to food debris becoming trapped there. Repeated local bacterial infection causes the tonsillar surface to gradually develop hard, foul-smelling granules. If white granules are observed on the tonsils, patients are advised to rinse their mouth thoroughly after meals and limit spicy foods to reduce residue accumulation in the pharynx. For recurrent cases, surgical removal of the affected tonsil (tonsillectomy) may be considered.

Patients are advised to maintain a balanced diet incorporating both meat and vegetables, drink plenty of water, and ensure adequate rest. We hope this information proves helpful.
