Introduction
Excessive Heart Fire does not cause arrhythmia. The primary clinical manifestations of Excessive Heart Fire include facial flushing, dry throat, preference for cold water, sore or ulcerated tongue, tongue swelling and pain, and cardiac discomfort. In cases of Heart Fire, patients may experience hematemesis or epistaxis, hematuria, and in severe cases, delirium or manic behavior. Heartburn is commonly triggered by emotional agitation, fatigue, and consumption of spicy foods.

Arrhythmia is caused by irregular lifestyle habits, inconsistent dietary patterns, hypertension, and drug-induced stimulation. Intense physical exercise can also trigger arrhythmia. Patients are advised to seek timely and effective treatment upon diagnosis, while simultaneously addressing underlying contributing factors to prevent serious complications. Can excessive “heart fire” (a concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine) cause arrhythmia?

Can Excessive Heart Fire Cause Arrhythmia?

Excessive heart fire does not cause arrhythmia. The primary clinical manifestations of excessive heart fire include facial flushing, dry throat, preference for cold water, sore or ulcerated tongue, tongue swelling and pain, and cardiac discomfort. In severe cases, it may lead to hematemesis (vomiting blood), epistaxis (nosebleeds), hematuria (blood in urine), delirium, or manic behavior. Heartburn is commonly triggered by emotional agitation, fatigue, and consumption of spicy foods. The main causes of arrhythmia fall into three categories: drug effects, neurological disorders, and various cardiac diseases. Clinical studies indicate that even individuals with normal baseline heart rates may develop arrhythmia due to emotional fluctuations, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, and other unhealthy habits.

Patients with excessive heart fire should avoid spicy and stimulating foods, drink ample water, consume light and bland meals, ensure adequate rest and high-quality sleep, and maintain a positive emotional state—all of which support disease recovery. Mung beans have a sweet taste and a cooling nature; they help clear heat and detoxify, and can be prepared as soup or mung bean cakes.

In daily life, patients should maintain an optimistic mindset, actively cooperate with their physicians’ treatment plans, take prescribed medications consistently and correctly, and pay close attention to routine self-care—thus facilitating prompt improvement of their condition.
