Introduction
Generally, exercising abdominal muscles does not cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Gastrointestinal discomfort may result from consuming greasy, spicy, or cold foods. It could also be caused by taking medications that irritate the digestive tract mucosa, excessive alcohol consumption, or other factors leading to gastrointestinal dysfunction. In addition, if the gastrointestinal tract is infected by viruses or bacteria, resulting in infectious diseases and insufficient gastric motility, this can also lead to gastrointestinal discomfort.

Generally, training abdominal muscles does not cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Gastrointestinal symptoms are more likely due to factors such as poor diet, gastrointestinal dysfunction, or viral and bacterial infections of the digestive tract.

1. Poor Diet

Consuming greasy, spicy, or cold foods may lead to gastrointestinal discomfort, causing abnormal symptoms such as bloating and abdominal pain.

2. Gastrointestinal Dysfunction

Frequent use of medications that irritate the digestive mucosa, excessive alcohol consumption, eating without chewing thoroughly, or irregular eating habits may result in gastrointestinal dysfunction, leading to symptoms like bloating and abdominal pain.

3. Viral or Bacterial Infection of the Gastrointestinal Tract

If the gastrointestinal tract is infected by viruses or bacteria, conditions such as gastric ulcers, chronic gastritis, or colitis may develop. These often result in insufficient gastric motility and intestinal dysfunction, causing indigestion and gastrointestinal discomfort, including symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, and vomiting.

Abdominal muscle training is generally beneficial for gastrointestinal health. During exercise, it can promote faster digestion and also help alleviate constipation.
