Introduction
A blood glucose level of 6.6 mmol/L one hour after a meal is generally considered normal. In healthy individuals, the normal postprandial blood glucose range at half an hour to one hour after eating is typically between 7.8 and 9.0 mmol/L. For patients with diabetes, the postprandial blood glucose level during this period tends to be higher than in healthy individuals but should not exceed 11.1 mmol/L. Additionally, fasting blood glucose and two-hour postprandial blood glucose levels should also be measured.

In healthy individuals, the normal blood glucose range one-half to one hour after eating is typically between 7.8 and 9.0 mmol/L. For people with diabetes, postprandial glucose levels during this period are usually higher than in healthy individuals, but should generally not exceed 11.1 mmol/L. A reading of 6.6 mmol/L one hour after a meal, although slightly below the typical normal range, is still considered within normal limits. This may be influenced by dietary factors—such as insufficient food intake—which can lead to lower post-meal glucose levels. It could also be affected by medications; for example, diabetic patients may experience lower blood glucose levels after taking their medication. These influences are usually not significant, but to prevent hypoglycemic reactions, it's important to make appropriate dietary adjustments, primarily by increasing food intake and avoiding restrictive dieting.

Additionally, measuring blood glucose only one hour after meals is insufficient. Fasting blood glucose and two-hour postprandial glucose levels should also be monitored to properly evaluate overall blood glucose control.
