Introduction
A 2-hour postprandial blood glucose level of 6.8 mmol/L is generally not high. For individuals without diabetes, the 2-hour postprandial blood glucose is typically less than 7.8 mmol/L. For diabetic patients, the 2-hour postprandial blood glucose should be less than 10.0 mmol/L, and for older patients, it should not exceed 11.0 mmol/L. For pregnant women, the 2-hour postprandial blood glucose should not exceed 11.1 mmol/L.

Whether a blood glucose level of 6.8 mmol/L two hours after a meal is high depends on the individual's specific circumstances.

1. Individuals without diabetes

For people without diabetes, blood glucose one hour after a meal should remain between 6.7 and 9.4 mmol/L, and two hours after a meal, it should be less than 7.8 mmol/L.

2. Diabetic patients

For individuals with diabetes, blood glucose two hours after a meal may be slightly higher than in healthy individuals and should generally be controlled below 10.0 mmol/L. For older patients, the target can be somewhat relaxed, and levels up to 11.0 mmol/L are still considered acceptable.

3. Pregnant women

Under normal circumstances, blood glucose in pregnant women should not exceed 10.0 mmol/L one hour after eating and should remain below 11.1 mmol/L two hours after eating.

Based on the above, regardless of which group an individual belongs to, a blood glucose level of 6.8 mmol/L two hours after a meal falls within the normal range, and there is no need for excessive concern.
