What does high vagal nerve excitability mean?
High vagal nerve excitability is a condition triggered by factors such as excessive fatigue and emotional changes.
Vagal nerve excitation may occur due to physical overexertion, frequent熬夜 (staying up late), suppressed anger, or extreme excitement, leading to alterations in mental or psychological status. It may also be induced in patients with heart disease during episodes of emotional stress or physical exertion. Additionally, it could result from damage to the vagus nerve itself. This condition typically manifests as dysfunction in the digestive, respiratory, and cardiovascular systems. Symptoms mainly include dizziness, headache, rapid heartbeat, blurred vision, cold extremities, impaired sweating, and arrhythmia. Some patients may also experience tearing, nasal congestion, or bradycardia.
After the onset of high vagal nerve excitability, patients should actively receive psychological counseling, maintain sufficient sleep, and avoid excessive fatigue, which can help alleviate clinical symptoms and prevent psychological disorders or other abnormalities.
