Introduction
Itchy wrists bilaterally may be caused by localized pruritus, allergies, papular urticaria, or other reasons. It is important to closely monitor any changes in the skin of the wrists. Seek medical attention promptly if symptoms become severe. Treatment generally involves oral medications or topical applications. During treatment, avoid consuming spicy and irritating foods as much as possible to prevent worsening of the condition.

Itchy wrists symmetrically on both hands may be caused by localized pruritus, allergies, papular urticaria, or other reasons.

1. Localized Skin Pruritus

For symmetrical wrist itching, observe any changes in the skin of the wrists. If there are no visible abnormalities and itching is the main symptom, localized skin pruritus may be present. Applying calamine lotion or using compound chlorhexidine acetate spray externally can help relieve itching.

2. Allergy

Symmetrical wrist itching accompanied by red spots on the wrists, noticeable raised bumps upon touch, and worsening itchiness may indicate allergic dermatitis or eczematous dermatitis due to an allergic reaction. Oral cetirizine tablets combined with topical moisturizing creams may be used for comprehensive treatment.

3. Papular Urticaria of the Hands

Symmetrical wrist itching with redness and red papules containing small vesicles may suggest papular urticaria caused by insect bites, also known as insect bite dermatitis. It is recommended to directly apply fluticasone propionate cream.

Patients are advised to seek timely medical evaluation and receive treatment based on the underlying cause. During treatment, it is also important to avoid spicy and irritating foods as much as possible to prevent worsening of symptoms.
