Introduction
Facial swelling after collagen filler injections is usually a normal phenomenon, as the procedure can damage the skin and mucous membranes, leading to local congestion and edema. Swelling following collagen injection can be alleviated with local cold compresses, or improved through warm compresses or application of blood-circulating and bruise-resolving ointments. When using cold compresses, it's important to control the duration and avoid prolonged application.

Facial swelling after collagen fillers is usually a normal phenomenon, as the procedure may damage the skin and mucous membranes, leading to local congestion and edema. Swelling after collagen filler injections can be improved through physical treatments or oral medications, as detailed below:

Cold compress: Cold compresses can be applied within 24 hours after the procedure. Wrap an ice pack in a dry towel and gently place it on the face for 5–10 minutes.

Warm compress: After 48 hours, apply localized warm compresses. Place a warm, damp towel over the face for 10 minutes, once daily.

Topical medications: For severe swelling, apply blood-circulation-promoting and stasis-resolving ointments as directed by a physician. After application, massage the area to enhance absorption and effectiveness of the medication.
