Introduction
If a patient has facial asymmetry due to long-term habit of sleeping with the head tilted to one side or other underlying conditions, self-correction may be achieved through facial massage and modifying such habits. If the patient has long-standing habits such as consistently sleeping on one side or chewing food predominantly with teeth on one side, these不良 lifestyle habits can be corrected by adopting a supine sleeping position and alternating chewing between both sides of the teeth.

If a patient's face has become asymmetrical due to long-term habit of sleeping with the head tilted to one side or other underlying medical conditions, self-correction may be achieved through facial massage and modifying bad habits. Specific methods are as follows:

1. Facial massage: Close the lips, lift the chin, and tilt the head gently to one side, holding for 10 seconds; then tilt the head to the opposite side and hold for another 10 seconds. Next, open the mouth to relax the muscles, and place the index and middle fingers beneath the masseter muscle—specifically at the jaw joint—ensuring the fingers remain in place. Slowly perform opening and closing movements of the mouth, repeating this motion 10 times.

2. Changing不良 habits: If the patient has long-standing habits such as consistently sleeping on one side or chewing food predominantly with one side of the teeth, correcting facial asymmetry can be achieved by adopting supine (back) sleeping and alternating chewing between both sides of the teeth to modify these unhealthy lifestyle habits.
