Steps for draping in surgical procedures
The purpose of draping sterile towels over the surgical site is to isolate the surgical area from the surrounding environment and ensure that the entire procedure remains aseptic. The specific steps are as follows:
1. First, inspect and open the sterile draping pack. After disinfecting the surgical site, begin draping. When placing each surgical towel, the folded (reversed) edge should be positioned toward the surgical incision.

2. During draping, first cover the relatively less clean areas (i.e., those farther from the surgical site), then the sides of the incision, and finally the side closest to the surgeon.
3. Next, use towel clamps to secure the intersections of the sterile drapes.
4. After completing the draping, additional medium sheets or large sheets may be added according to surgical requirements. The upper end of the sheet should cover the anesthesia stand, and both sides and the foot end should hang over the edges of the operating table by at least 30 cm.
