Introduction
Reversal vasectomy mainly refers to a surgical procedure to restore fertility after a prior vasectomy. The most advanced current method is microsurgical vasovasostomy or vasoepididymostomy performed under a microscope. The reversal procedure involves making an incision in the scrotum, removing the obstructed segment of the vas deferens, and then reconnecting and suturing the vas deferens to the epididymis. Generally, if the previous vasectomy was performed within 10 years, the success rate is relatively high, reaching 80%–90%.

Reversal vasectomy mainly refers to recanalization surgery after ligation. The most advanced method currently available is microsurgical vasovasostomy or vasoepididymostomy. The general surgical procedure is as follows:

1. Make an incision to fully expose the vas deferens: An incision is made in the scrotum, enlarged to 2–3 cm. After opening the scrotum, the epididymis and vas deferens are exposed, taking care to protect the blood vessels surrounding the vas deferens.

2. Remove a portion of the previously ligated segment of the vas deferens, then inject a recanalization test fluid into the vas deferens to check for patency in the distal segment.

3. Anastomosis: Make an incision at the head of the epididymis, and under microscopic guidance, perform anastomosis between the vas deferens and the epididymis.

4. Close the incision with sutures upon completion. Repeat the same procedure on the opposite side.
