Introduction
Persistent bleeding from a small wound should be treated according to the specific condition of the wound. Local compression hemostasis, using sterile gauze pads and bandage fixation, can effectively control minor local bleeding. For deeper wounds, wound debridement and suturing can be performed—cleaning, disinfecting, and debriding the wound before closing it with stitches.
For a small wound that continues to bleed, two common methods can be used: local continuous pressure to stop the bleeding and wound debridement with suturing. The specific procedures are as follows:

1. Local continuous compression: Cover the wound with a disinfected hand and apply pressure to stop the bleeding. Then disinfect the area locally, place sterile gauze over the wound to maintain pressure, and finally secure it with a bandage.
2. Debridement and suturing: Before suturing, repeatedly clean and disinfect the wound using 1% hydrogen peroxide, medical iodophor, or active iodine. Remove any foreign materials from within the wound completely, then proceed with suturing.
