Introduction
A burning sensation in the fingers and toes may be caused by compression or trauma to the fingers and toes, leading to osteochondral injury and rupture of capillaries. It could also result from peripheral neuritis, which can produce the aforementioned symptoms when affecting the hands and feet. Additionally, when gout is present, elevated blood uric acid levels can form crystals that deposit in the soft tissues of the hands and feet, causing a burning sensation in the fingers and toes.

A burning sensation in the fingers and toes may be related to trauma, peripheral neuritis, gout, or other causes.

1. Trauma

If the fingers or toes suffer from compression, impact, or other injuries, it can easily lead to damage of bone and cartilage tissues as well as rupture of capillaries. This condition may result in a burning sensation in the fingers and toes.

2. Peripheral Neuritis

Peripheral neuritis is a disorder affecting sensory and motor functions in the distal parts of the limbs. Its occurrence may be associated with factors such as nutritional deficiencies or poisoning. When it affects the hands and feet, patients may experience a burning sensation in the fingers and toes. In severe cases, it can also lead to loss of sensation or motor impairment.

3. Gout

In patients with gout, elevated uric acid levels and abnormal purine metabolism occur. When uric acid crystals deposit in the soft tissues of the hands and feet, they can cause a burning sensation or burning pain in the fingers and toes.

When the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation at a hospital to identify the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.
