Introduction
Gastrointestinal medications are generally classified into three categories: those that improve gastric motility, those that protect the gastric mucosa, and acid-suppressing agents. Prokinetic drugs enhance gastric motility to achieve a stomach-soothing effect; commonly used medications include domperidone tablets and mosapride tablets. Medications that protect the gastric mucosa help alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort, with common examples such as aluminum magnesium carbonate chewable tablets. Acid-suppressing agents help control gastric acid secretion from the gastric mucosa.

Stomach medicines are usually classified into three types: those that improve gastric motility, protect the gastric mucosa, and suppress acid production.

1. Improve Gastric Motility

After stomach damage, gastric motility often significantly decreases. Under medical guidance, prokinetic medications can be used to improve this condition. Commonly used drugs include domperidone tablets and mosapride tablets.

2. Protect the Gastric Mucosa

When discomfort occurs in the stomach, it may be due to damage of the gastric mucosa. In such cases, medications that protect the gastric mucosa can be taken as directed by a doctor to relieve symptoms. Commonly used drugs include aluminum magnesium carbonate chewable tablets, bismuth potassium citrate tablets, and colloidal bismuth pectin tablets.

3. Acid-Suppressing Medications

Gastric disorders often lead to excessive gastric acid secretion. Under medical supervision, acid-suppressing drugs can help control acid production in the gastric mucosa and reduce symptoms such as acid reflux, nausea, and stomach discomfort. Commonly used acid-suppressing drugs include ranitidine tablets and cimetidine tablets.
