How to relieve headache after getting caught in the rain
Generally, headaches caused by getting caught in the rain can be relieved through enhanced warmth retention, massage, and medication.
1. Keep warm: After getting caught in the rain, individuals should take a hot shower as soon as possible, dry their hair thoroughly, and change into clean, warm clothing to prevent further invasion of cold and wind pathogens. Drinking plenty of hot water or herbal infusions such as ginger tea may also help dispel cold, improve overall blood circulation, raise body temperature, and thereby alleviate headache and other discomforts.
2. Massage: Headaches following exposure to rain can also be eased with massage. Applying pressure to acupoints such as the temples on both sides of the head, the Baihui point at the crown, and the Fengchi points at the back of the neck can effectively relieve headache symptoms.
3. Medication: If headache persists, it may indicate a cold due to chilling. It is advisable to seek medical attention promptly, monitor body temperature closely, and take medications such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets, or Ganmaoling granules under a doctor's guidance.
