1. Small Intestinal Bleeding
If the condition of a small intestinal ulcer is severe, it may cause bleeding in the small intestine, resulting in bloody stools. Patients may also experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Over time, anemia may develop.
2. Small Intestinal Obstruction
If the ulcer worsens and affects intestinal function or causes adhesions of the intestinal mucosa, it may lead to intestinal obstruction. Patients typically suffer from severe abdominal pain and distension, along with cessation of bowel movements and gas passage, posing a serious threat to life.
3. Small Intestinal Perforation
Untreated small intestinal ulcers may progress and easily result in intestinal perforation. Once perforation occurs, inflammation can spread rapidly, worsening infection and significantly increasing the risk of mortality.
