Introduction
Numbness in both arms during sleep may be caused by incorrect sleeping posture, cervical spondylosis, or ischemic cerebrovascular disease. An improper sleeping position can compress the arms, leading to poor blood circulation. In cervical spondylosis, bone spurs compress the cervical nerve roots, causing numbness and discomfort in the hands and arms. In ischemic cerebrovascular disease, impaired blood flow can result in numbness in one or both upper limbs.

Generally, numbness in both arms during sleep may be caused by incorrect sleeping posture, cervical spondylosis, or ischemic cerebrovascular disease.

1. Incorrect sleeping posture: When the arms are compressed during sleep, poor blood circulation may result, leading to numbness in both arms. Maintaining a proper sleeping position is recommended to alleviate this condition.

2. Cervical spondylosis: Conditions such as cervical disc herniation or cervical joint hyperplasia can compress the cervical nerve roots, causing numbness, soreness, and discomfort in the hands and arms. It is recommended to take medications such as Jinfukang Granules or Jingshu Granules under a doctor's guidance.

3. Ischemic cerebrovascular disease: Poor circulation due to vertebrobasilar insufficiency or during recovery from cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral thrombosis may lead to numbness in one or both upper limbs. Patients should seek timely medical attention and, under a doctor’s supervision, may use medications such as enteric-coated aspirin capsules or clopidogrel hydrogen sulfate tablets for treatment.
