Should baby bottles for newborns be made of glass or silicone?
Whether made of glass or silicone, baby bottles each have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the choice can be made according to individual needs.
1. Glass Bottles
Glass bottles generally offer benefits such as easy heating, resistance to dirt buildup, safer material composition, and good heat resistance, making them typically suitable for parents during feeding. However, they are heavier and fragile; they are also prone to cracking or breaking when exposed to sudden temperature changes. In case of accidents during use, they may pose a risk of injury to newborns.
2. Silicone Bottles
Compared to glass bottles, silicone bottles are lighter, easier to clean, and more durable. However, they may contain certain chemical components. If the quality of the silicone bottle is substandard, harmful substances could leach into the formula, potentially negatively affecting the newborn's growth and development.
When feeding newborns, it is recommended to feed on demand and avoid overfeeding, which could lead to indigestion.
