Introduction
For recurrent scalp psoriasis, topical applications such as pimecrolimus or tacrolimus can be used, as well as calcipotriol/betamethasone gel or calcipotriol ointment. If symptoms are severe, immunosuppressants such as sulfasalazine or cyclosporine may be added. In addition to medications, physical therapies such as narrowband medium-wave ultraviolet (NB-UVB) therapy or 308nm excimer light can be considered.

Recurrent scalp psoriasis can be improved through topical medications, oral medications, and physical therapies.

1. Topical Medications

For recurrent scalp psoriasis, topical ointments can be applied under medical guidance. Commonly used drugs include pimecrolimus and tacrolimus, which not only have anti-inflammatory effects but also help inhibit skin cell proliferation. Alternatively, corticosteroid medications such as calcipotriol/betamethasone gel or calcipotriol ointment may be applied.

2. Oral Medications

If symptoms are severe, oral immunosuppressants such as sulfasalazine or cyclosporine may be prescribed. These medications can not only suppress cell proliferation but also alleviate abnormal epidermal differentiation, helping to control inflammation.

3. Physical Therapy

In addition to medications, patients may opt for physical treatments such as narrowband medium-wave ultraviolet (NB-UVB) therapy or 308nm excimer light therapy. These treatments primarily work by influencing cytokines and promoting the synthesis of calcitriol.
