Why do I have consciousness but can't wake up during sleep?
Generally, being conscious but unable to wake up during sleep may be caused by factors such as neurasthenia, physical weakness, or cerebral ischemia. Symptoms can usually be alleviated and treated under a doctor's guidance through medication and improving unhealthy lifestyle habits.
1. Neurasthenia: This is typically caused by extreme physical exhaustion or severe mental fatigue, and is often accompanied by symptoms like neurasthenia and dizziness. It may result in awareness during sleep while being unable to wake up. Patients are advised to take medications such as Naoxinshu Oral Liquid or Anle Tablets under medical supervision.
2. Physical Weakness: This is mainly due to low immunity and commonly accompanied by symptoms such as cold intolerance, insomnia, and frequent dreams. Patients are advised to maintain a balanced diet rich in dietary fiber, engage in moderate exercise to strengthen their constitution, and ensure seven to eight hours of sleep daily—avoiding both excessive and insufficient sleep. Ensure the bedroom is well-ventilated. When experiencing awareness but inability to wake up, remain calm, try moving the eyeballs, wiggle fingers, and gradually extend movement to limbs until full consciousness is regained.
3. Cerebral Ischemia: This may be caused by conditions such as cerebral atherosclerosis, and is often accompanied by symptoms like dizziness, headache, and persistent drowsiness. It may also lead to being aware during sleep yet unable to wake up. Patients should take medications such as Clopidogrel Hydrogen Sulfate Tablets or Enteric-Coated Aspirin Tablets under a doctor’s guidance.
