Pregnant woman has watery diarrhea and also experiences nausea and belching.
Pregnant women experiencing watery diarrhea along with nausea and belching may be affected by factors such as abdominal chilling, gastrointestinal dysfunction, or enteritis. Treatment should be based on the underlying cause.
1. Abdominal Chilling
Abdominal chilling may lead to diarrhea. In such cases, applying heat therapy (such as warm compresses) can help expel cold from the abdomen and alleviate diarrhea symptoms. Additionally, dietary adjustments are important during this period. Consume easily digestible, light foods in the short term, and avoid raw, cold, greasy, and spicy foods.
2. Gastrointestinal Dysfunction
Gastrointestinal dysfunction may also cause discomforts such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and belching. Under a doctor's guidance, probiotics like bifidobacteria or other beneficial bacterial supplements may be taken to regulate intestinal function. However, medication use during pregnancy must strictly follow medical advice.
3. Enteritis
Inflammation caused by intestinal infection can also result in diarrhea. If symptoms are severe, medications such as smectite powder or amoxicillin capsules may be used under medical supervision. Since pregnancy is a special physiological period, self-medication should be avoided.
