Introduction
After shingles scab over, skin pain may persist, primarily due to a prolonged course of illness or severe condition causing local nerve inflammation and necrosis, leading to neuropathic pain, which is more common in elderly individuals. Severe pain can be relieved with analgesics and neurotrophic medications. It is also important to maintain a balanced diet, regular作息 (daily routine), engage in appropriate physical exercise, and enhance overall immunity.

After shingles scab over, skin pain is mainly caused by residual nerve pain. It is recommended to take medication properly, adjust diet and sleep schedule, and engage in appropriate exercise.

Following infection with the herpes zoster virus, the skin undergoes a series of inflammatory reactions, resulting in varying numbers of red rashes accompanied by symptoms such as pain, itching, and redness. If the disease persists for a long time or is severe, local nerves may suffer inflammation and necrosis. Even after the blisters heal and scab over, nerve pain can persist, leading to skin pain after scabbing. This pain is often intense. Generally, elderly individuals with weaker immune systems are more likely to experience post-scarring neuralgia following shingles.

If the pain is severe, it can be alleviated with pain-relieving medications. Under medical guidance, oral ibuprofen or carbamazepine may be taken. Additionally, neurotrophic agents such as mecobalamin or vitamin B1 can be used. Maintaining a balanced diet, regular作息 (sleep-wake cycle), and engaging in moderate physical activity can help enhance immunity and reduce the risk of viral infections.
