Introduction
Nosebleeds from the left nostril are commonly caused by rhinitis, nasal trauma, or lung diseases. Before stopping the bleeding, clear away any blood clots. Insert cotton or a tissue into the left nostril, and use a decongestant or nasal spray as needed. Then press the front part of the nose with your fingers. After 10–15 minutes, remove the cotton or tissue. If the bleeding continues, seek medical attention promptly.

Nosebleeds from the left nostril most commonly occur due to rhinitis, nasal trauma, or lung diseases. In severe cases, they may even be caused by blood disorders. Early treatment is recommended to prevent harm to the body. Specific treatment methods are as follows:

1. Before stopping the bleeding, clean out any existing blood clots.

2. Insert cotton or a tissue into the left nostril, and use a decongestant or nasal spray as needed.

3. Keep the head upright or slightly forward—do not tilt it backward—and pinch the front of the nose firmly with your fingers for 5 to 7 minutes to help stop the bleeding. If possible, apply an ice pack to the nose for cold compression.

4. After 10–15 minutes, remove the cotton or tissue. If bleeding continues, seek medical attention promptly.

Note: After blood coagulates, it forms clots and scabs. At this stage, avoid cleaning the nasal cavity, as the nasal mucosa at the bleeding site is fragile and may bleed again if disturbed.
