Introduction
The zygomatic bone reduction surgery begins with an incision inside the mouth, followed by dissection along the maxilla to reach the zygomatic bone, where the anterior portion of the zygomatic bone is cut using a bone saw. Then, a small incision is made within the hairline, and the skin and periosteum are dissected along the zygomatic bone. The posterior portion of the zygomatic bone is cut, allowing medial repositioning of the bone. The anterior segment of the zygomatic bone is also contoured and moved inward. Finally, the bone is fixed in place with titanium plates, and the incisions are sutured closed.

Malar bone reduction surgery can quickly reshape the facial contour and structure, resulting in a smoother facial profile. Below is an illustration of the malar bone reduction surgical procedure:

1. Make an incision inside the mouth along the mucosa between the upper gum and lip, then dissect along the maxilla to reach the zygomatic bone, taking care not to damage the facial nerves.

2. Use a bone saw to cut the front portion of the zygomatic bone. Make a small incision within the hairline at the temple, then separate the skin and periosteum along the zygomatic bone. Cut the posterior part of the zygomatic bone, reposition it inward, and also trim and set back the anterior segment.

3. After proper adjustment, secure the bone in place using titanium plates and screws, which can remain permanently implanted.

4. Suture both the intraoral and hairline incisions closed.

Precautions: Malar bone reduction is classified as a level-4 surgical procedure and should be performed only at accredited medical facilities by experienced surgeons. Proper postoperative wound care is essential to prevent infection, and a light, bland diet is recommended after surgery.

Medications should be taken only under the guidance of a qualified physician, and surgery must be performed at a正规 medical institution.
