The entire process of septoplasty for deviated nasal septum
The entire surgical procedure for correcting a deviated nasal septum is relatively complex, aiming to restore the deviated septum to its normal anatomical position. The complete process of septoplasty is as follows:
1. First, administer general anesthesia to the patient.

2. The surgeon makes an L-shaped incision within the mucosa of the left nasal cavity using a scalpel, carefully dissecting and lifting the mucosa to expose the nasal septal cartilage. The same technique is used to dissect the mucosa on the opposite side.
3. Using surgical scissors, the surgeon cuts away the deformed portion of the nasal cartilage. A nasal septal rongeur is then used to remove the junction between the perpendicular plate of the ethmoid bone and the cartilage. Next, a chisel is used along the nasal floor to remove the deviated vomer bone.
4. The mucosal flaps are then repositioned and sutured along the incision site.
5. Finally, gauze strips or hemostatic sponges are packed into both nasal cavities to control bleeding.
Note: Nasal packing should remain in place for approximately 72 hours postoperatively before removal, followed by routine nasal care and follow-up visits.
Medications should be taken only under the guidance of a qualified physician. Surgery should be performed at a正规 medical institution.
