Surgical procedure for bony protruding mouth
Bony protruding mouth is generally treated with a combination of orthodontics and orthognathic surgery. Orthognathic surgery is usually performed after orthodontic treatment. The surgical procedure for correcting bony protruding mouth is as follows:
1. Administer preoperative anesthesia and mark the osteotomy lines.

2. Make an incision along the vestibular groove in the mucosa—the incision should not be too long—and carefully dissect the anterior-lateral periosteum of the maxilla close to the bone surface.
3. Following the preoperatively designed osteotomy lines, cut the bone posterior to the zygomaticoalveolar region, position both segments appropriately, and secure them with titanium screws.
4. After completing the surgery, thoroughly clean the surgical site and suture the wound.
Note: Orthognathic surgery typically takes about 3 hours. Postoperative care must follow medical instructions.
Medication should be used only under the guidance of a qualified physician, and surgery should be performed at a正规 medical institution.
