Introduction
Hyaluronic acid fillers for elf ears are primarily administered through multiple injections in the area behind the ear and the earlobe, following disinfection and local anesthesia of the injection site. The shape can be adjusted and observed over several sessions. Unlike other facial areas, the ear has minimal muscle movement, resulting in slower metabolism of hyaluronic acid and a longer-lasting effect. However, it is not permanent, and repeated injections are required to maintain the desired outcome.
Elf ear correction, also known as pinned-ear reshaping, falls within the scope of ear reconstruction and can be achieved through hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. However, the results are not permanent. Below is a step-by-step guide for elf ear correction using hyaluronic acid injections:
1. Examine the patient's ear structure to determine the injection points.
2. Clean the posterior area behind the ears and the earlobes where injections will be administered.
3. After disinfecting the injection sites locally, apply topical anesthetic cream for 15 minutes.
4. Inject hyaluronic acid gradually into the posterior ear area and earlobes, with no more than 2–5 milliliters per side.
