Three-edged needle bloodletting therapy
Triangular needle bloodletting therapy is a method that involves pricking specific acupoints with a pointed needle to release an appropriate amount of blood for the purpose of treating diseases. The main techniques include spot pricking, scattered pricking, and bloodletting. Taking the spot pricking method as an example, the specific procedure is as follows:

1. Disinfection: Before needling, disinfect the local skin with a cotton ball containing 2% iodine tincture, then wipe the needle instrument clean with an alcohol swab.
2. Prior to needling, use the left thumb and index finger to press and squeeze above and below the intended puncture site, causing blood to accumulate at the area. Use the left thumb, index, and middle fingers to firmly hold or pinch the acupoint to be punctured. Hold the needle with the right hand, exposing 1–2 fen (approximately 0.1–0.2 inches) of the needle tip, and quickly insert it into the acupoint to a depth of 1–2 fen. Immediately withdraw the needle, gently press around the puncture site with the left hand, and use a sterile cotton ball in the right hand to wipe away the emerging blood drops. Allow several to dozens of drops of blood to be released, then finally apply a sterile cotton ball to press and stop bleeding at the puncture site.
Note: This procedure must be performed under the guidance of a qualified professional.
