Introduction
Whether one can run on an empty stomach in the morning should be determined based on individual circumstances. For individuals with poor physical health, elderly people, or those suffering from chronic diseases, fasting morning runs are generally not recommended, as they may lead to hypoglycemia, arrhythmia, or even sudden death. However, for young people or those in good physical condition without underlying medical conditions, running on an empty stomach in the morning is acceptable and can help strengthen the body, aid weight loss, and boost immunity.

Whether or not it is advisable to run on an empty stomach in the morning generally depends on individual circumstances.

1. Not recommended

For individuals with poor physical fitness, elderly people, or those suffering from chronic conditions such as hypertension or diabetes, running on an empty stomach is usually not advised. Running requires substantial energy, and in particular, diabetic patients who have taken insulin may not have sufficient energy supply when exercising without eating, which could lead to hypoglycemia, resulting in dizziness, fainting, or injuries. Additionally, during fasting exercise, the body primarily uses fat for energy. If levels of free fatty acids in the blood rise too high, they may act as cardiac toxins, increasing the burden on the liver and heart, potentially causing arrhythmias or even sudden death.

2. Acceptable

For young people or individuals with good physical fitness who do not have underlying medical conditions, running on an empty stomach in the morning is generally acceptable. It can help strengthen the body, increase lung capacity, consume extra energy, promote fat burning, and support weight loss. Moreover, fasting morning runs can improve blood circulation, boost immunity, and enhance overall resistance.
