The difference between heat stroke and cold stroke lies in their different causes, clinical manifestations, and treatment approaches.

1. Different Causes

Heat stroke is mainly caused by prolonged exposure to high-temperature environments, leading to impaired sweating and subsequent heat accumulation in the body. Cold stroke, on the other hand, occurs during summer when body pores are open and exposed to cold air or cold water, allowing cold pathogens to enter the body and trigger symptoms of stroke.

2. Different Clinical Manifestations

Patients with heat stroke typically experience dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and general weakness. In contrast, patients with cold stroke commonly present with symptoms such as dry mouth, thirst, limb aches, and mild fever.

3. Different Treatments

For heat stroke, treatment under medical guidance may include intravenous administration of glucose solution or chlorpromazine hydrochloride injection. For cold stroke, treatment may involve taking medications such as Huoxiang Zhengqi Oral Liquid or Huoxiang Zhengqi Water as directed by a physician.

The severity of heat stroke and cold stroke also varies. It is recommended to seek timely treatment to prevent serious harm to health. Additionally, it is important to get adequate rest and avoid physical activities in hot, poorly ventilated environments.
