Introduction
Dryness, sore throat, and itchy ears may be caused by conditions such as otitis media, chronic pharyngitis, or allergic rhinitis. Treatment is usually targeted and should be conducted under a doctor's guidance. Otitis media is generally caused by bacterial or viral infections. The bacteria or virus can invade the middle ear through the Eustachian tube, leading to inflammation, bleeding, or swelling in the Eustachian tube and middle ear, resulting in a dry, sore throat along with itchy ears.

Dryness, sore throat, and itchy ears may be caused by conditions such as otitis media, chronic pharyngitis, or allergic rhinitis. Treatment should generally be carried out under the guidance of a physician based on the specific cause.

1. Otitis Media: Otitis media is usually caused by bacterial or viral infections. Pathogens invade the middle ear through the Eustachian tube, leading to bleeding or swelling in the Eustachian tube and middle ear. This can result in dryness and soreness in the throat, along with itching in the ear. Patients are generally advised to follow medical instructions for antibiotic treatment, such as cefixime capsules or roxithromycin tablets.

2. Chronic Pharyngitis: Long-term exposure to irritants such as tobacco, alcohol, or spicy foods can increase throat sensitivity and make individuals prone to bacterial infections that trigger chronic pharyngitis. Inflammatory irritation of the Eustachian tube causes dryness and pain in the throat. Additionally, because the ear is connected to the throat via the Eustachian tube, this condition may also lead to itching inside the ear. Under medical guidance, patients may use anti-infective medications such as norfloxacin capsules or cefaclor capsules.

3. Allergic Rhinitis: Exposure to allergens such as pollen or dust mites may trigger allergic rhinitis. This prompts the body to release immunoglobulins, causing spasms in mucosal blood vessels and reduced glandular secretion, resulting in congestion and edema in the throat and ears. These changes lead to symptoms including dry, sore throat and itchy ears. Patients can follow their doctor's recommendations to take antihistamine medications such as loratadine tablets or cetirizine hydrochloride tablets.

In addition to the above relatively common causes, similar symptoms may also be related to other factors, such as tonsillitis.
