What types of conditions are included in cardiovascular diseases?
There are many types of cardiovascular diseases, including lesions of the heart blood vessels, structural and functional abnormalities of the heart, and disorders of the conduction system.
1. Cardiac vascular diseases: Common coronary artery diseases are primarily caused by atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart, leading to narrowing or blockage of the vessel lumen. This can trigger cardiovascular conditions such as coronary atherosclerotic heart disease and myocardial infarction.
2. Structural and functional heart diseases: Patients who remain in a state of long-term hypertension may develop structural abnormalities of the heart, resulting in hypertensive heart disease, which can cause myocardial hypertrophy, ventricular chamber dilation, and decreased cardiac function. Additionally, dilated cardiomyopathy can also lead to an enlarged heart and reduced systolic function.
3. Conduction system diseases: The heart's conduction system mainly includes the sinoatrial node, atrioventricular node, and atrioventricular bundle. Any abnormality in these components can disrupt normal conduction, thereby impairing the heart's normal physiological function. Examples include common arrhythmias, sinus bradycardia, and ventricular tachycardia.
Due to the wide variety of cardiovascular diseases, if symptoms such as chest tightness or chest pain occur, it is important to seek timely medical evaluation at a hospital. Once the underlying cause is identified, treatment should be carried out under the guidance of a physician.
