Introduction
A 50 percent blockage shown on coronary angiography is generally considered quite significant. Coronary angiography is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate the condition of the coronary arteries and can help diagnose coronary heart disease. If the blockage is located in a distal coronary artery, with a 50 percent stenosis, and the plaque is stable and calcified, it is relatively stable and considered non-severe.

Coronary angiography is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate the condition of the coronary arteries and can help diagnose coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. If coronary angiography confirms that a patient has a 50 percent blockage in the coronary arteries, this is considered a relatively severe condition. However, the degree of blockage should not be the sole indicator for assessing the overall severity of coronary artery disease. Typically, evaluating the severity of coronary heart disease requires consideration not only of the percentage of arterial blockage but also of factors such as the area, location, size of the blockage, and whether the affected artery is a major trunk vessel. For instance, if a patient has a 50 percent blockage located in the left main coronary artery and the atherosclerotic plaque causing the blockage is unstable, this constitutes a very serious situation that usually requires intervention through procedures or surgery. On the other hand, if the 50 percent blockage occurs in a distal coronary artery, the plaque is stable and calcified, the condition is relatively stable, and the patient may manage symptoms under a doctor’s guidance using medications such as aspirin tablets or warfarin tablets.

Patients should maintain a low-salt, low-fat diet in daily life and consume more fresh fruits and vegetables.
