How to use a self-test COVID-19 test kit
Self-testing COVID-19 test kits refer to SARS-CoV-2 antigen tests. When we need to be tested, we can choose to perform a self-test using the SARS-CoV-2 antigen test, which usually takes only about one minute to complete—convenient and fast. The specific instructions are as follows:
1. Before handling the test kit, wash your hands thoroughly with running water twice.
2. Use a clean moist swab to gently clean both nasal cavities. Be careful to apply gentle pressure to avoid damaging the mucous membranes.
3. Remove the nasal swab, taking care not to touch the cotton tip to prevent contamination.
4. Tilt your head slightly backward, insert the swab along the nasal passage 1–1.5 cm, rotate it four times, then repeat the same procedure in the other nostril.
5. Remove the swab and place it into the sample tube. Break off the cotton tip at the designated line, close the cap, and add four drops of the provided buffer solution into the tube.
6. Wait 15–30 minutes before reading the result. If both the C and T lines appear red-purple, the result is positive. If only the C line appears red-purple, the result is negative.
