Introduction
Methods for reducing intracranial pressure should be determined according to the underlying cause and may include general management, pharmacological treatment, surgical intervention, and other approaches. Taking decompressive craniectomy as an example: the surgeon uses a scalpel to incise the scalp, opens a bone flap by drilling holes in the skull and cutting it out with a wire saw or cranial drill, retracts and suspends the dura mater, opens the cranial cavity, removes existing necrotic brain tissue, and then sutures the scalp closed.

There are many causes of increased intracranial pressure, and methods to reduce it depend on the underlying cause. Treatments may include general management, medication, or surgical intervention. Taking decompressive craniectomy as an example to lower intracranial pressure, the procedure must be performed in a正规 hospital. The specific surgical steps are as follows:

1. The patient is placed in the lithotomy position. The surgeon performs routine disinfection and draping, and the anesthesiologist administers general anesthesia. After anesthesia takes effect, the surgeon identifies the incision site.

2. Once the site is determined, a scalpel is used to cut the scalp, followed by hemostasis using hemostatic clamps.

3. Open the bone flap and drill holes in the skull, typically four or five holes.

4. Use a wire saw or craniotome to cut out the bone flap. Suspend the dura mater, open the cranial cavity, remove any existing necrotic brain tissue, and then suture the scalp.

5. After suturing, wipe the area with medical gauze, observe the patient for any abnormalities, and if none are present, proceed with dressing and conclude the surgery. In addition to this method, treatment can also be performed via puncture drainage.
