To reflect, to some extent, the patient's effective blood flow, cardiac function, and vascular tension under load conditions, continuous monitoring of central venous pressure allows dynamic assessment of changes in blood volume, enabling timely fluid resuscitation and plasma replacement. If a patient has low blood pressure but a central venous pressure greater than 10 cmH₂O, heart failure should be considered. In such cases, medications that enhance myocardial contractility—such as digitalis preparations—should be used, and fluid intake must be strictly controlled.
