Introduction
Elevated cholinesterase levels: if the increase is physiological, it usually resolves spontaneously; however, if it is pathological, it will not resolve on its own and requires appropriate tests to identify the underlying cause, followed by active treatment. In daily life, a light diet is recommended, including foods such as apples, cabbage, and fish. Regular physical exercise, such as jogging, swimming, or yoga, should also be appropriately increased.

Elevated cholinesterase levels may resolve spontaneously if the increase is physiological; however, if the elevation is pathological, it will not resolve on its own and requires appropriate medical evaluation to determine the underlying cause, followed by active treatment.

Cholinesterase is a type of glycoprotein present in the body in various isoenzyme forms, generally classified into acetylcholinesterase (true cholinesterase) and pseudocholinesterase. If elevated cholinesterase levels are detected, there's usually no need for excessive concern, as this may result from consuming large amounts of high-fat foods—such as fried chicken or French fries—or from unhealthy habits like severe obesity or excessive alcohol consumption, which can impair the liver’s ability to fully metabolize cholinesterase. This scenario represents a physiological increase, which is typically normal. Patients can improve the condition by adopting healthier lifestyle habits and should consider follow-up testing after an interval period.

If retesting after some time still shows elevated cholinesterase levels, this indicates a pathological increase, possibly caused by conditions such as viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, diabetes, or coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. In such cases, patients should promptly seek medical care at a hospital and undergo tests—including complete blood count, liver function, kidney function, and thyroid function tests—to identify the specific underlying cause and receive targeted treatment.

In daily life, individuals should focus on a light and balanced diet, including foods such as apples, cabbage, and fish. Engaging in moderate physical exercise—such as jogging, swimming, or yoga—can help enhance overall immunity and promote recovery.
