How to remove the plastic shell of a clotrimazole suppository
Clotrimazole suppositories are for vaginal use. The plastic shell must be manually removed before placing the suppository into the vagina for treatment. The specific steps are as follows:
1. Wash and disinfect your hands before use, and put on sterile gloves.
2. Clean abnormal vaginal secretions with a cleansing solution or water, then gently dry the area with a clean towel to ensure the external genitalia are dry.
3. Take out the clotrimazole expanding suppository, peel it from the plastic blister pack, and carefully pull out the front and back plastic plates from the lower end to remove the plastic shell and expose the suppository.
4. Hold the suppository with the conical end facing toward the vagina, gently insert it, and use your index finger to push the suppository deep into the vagina, allowing time for the medication to be absorbed.
