Furosemide 20mg intravenous injection procedure
Furosemide injection by intravenous push generally refers to the intravenous bolus administration of furosemide injection solution. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. First, the physician must assess the patient's medical condition and treatment status to determine whether the patient can tolerate intravenous push administration.
2. Bring all prepared supplies to the bedside, verify the patient's identity, and explain the procedure to the patient to gain cooperation.
3. The physician draws the medication into a syringe and expels all air from it.
4. Select an appropriate vein, use the finger to determine the direction and depth of the vein, and disinfect the surrounding skin with iodine tincture.
5. Instruct the patient to make a fist. Holding the syringe, the physician inserts the needle bevel upward into the vein. If local swelling or pain occurs during injection, this indicates that the needle has slipped out of the vein; the needle should then be withdrawn, and another site selected for re-injection.
6. After completing the injection, press the puncture site with a sterile swab, quickly withdraw the needle, and continue applying pressure for several minutes.
