How to relieve pain from injections
Pain from an injection may be caused by local inflammation and can be relieved through methods such as warm compresses, medication, or massage. Taking warm compress as an example, the specific steps are as follows:
1. If pain occurs during injection, stop the infusion immediately and seek help from a nurse.
2. If inflammation is present, remove the needle promptly. Press the puncture site firmly for 5–10 minutes after needle removal to prevent blood leakage.
3. Take a clean towel, soak it in hot water at 40–50°C, wring it out, and apply it as a warm compress to the patient's hand.
4. Finally, under a doctor's guidance, evenly apply an anti-inflammatory medication, such as fusidic acid.
