Itraconazole pulse therapy
Itraconazole pulse therapy is one of the commonly used treatments for onychomycosis. This therapy is primarily used to treat fungal infections such as tinea manuum and pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, and tinea unguium. Itraconazole pulse therapy should be administered under the guidance of a qualified physician. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. After a meal, the patient should prepare itraconazole medication and some lukewarm water.
2. Take the prescribed dose of itraconazole with lukewarm water, as directed by the physician.
3. Once a clear therapeutic effect is achieved, consult the doctor regarding discontinuation of the medication.
For patients who have taken the medication continuously for more than one month, or those who develop symptoms such as anorexia, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, abdominal pain, or darkened urine during treatment, liver function tests are recommended. If abnormalities are detected, the medication should be discontinued immediately.
