Introduction
If a patient has a low-grade fever, they usually should not take acetaminophen tablets. It is recommended to manage the condition through daily care and physical cooling methods. Note that if the patient's body temperature exceeds 38.5℃, in addition to daily care and physical cooling, acetaminophen tablets may be taken as directed by a physician to help restore normal body temperature.

Acetaminophen tablets are antipyretic and analgesic medications whose main ingredients include acetaminophen, dextrin, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, thiourea, magnesium stearate, carboxymethyl starch sodium, calcium carbonate, and sodium lauryl sulfate. They are primarily used to treat fever caused by the common cold or influenza, or to relieve mild to moderate pain such as headaches, joint pain, migraines, toothaches, and muscle pain.

Patients with low-grade fever should not take acetaminophen tablets. Low-grade fever is a common symptom defined by oral temperature, typically ranging from 37.3°C to 38°C. It may be accompanied by symptoms such as afternoon fever, cough, fatigue, night sweats, or sweating upon waking. This condition is generally not serious and can be alleviated through daily care and physical cooling measures. Acetaminophen tablets should only be taken under a doctor's guidance when body temperature exceeds 38.5°C. Patients should drink plenty of warm water, maintain a healthy diet focusing on light foods, get adequate bed rest, and avoid excessive fatigue. Additionally, they can use a warm towel to wipe areas rich in blood vessels, such as the neck, armpits, elbow creases, and groin.

It should be noted that if a patient’s body temperature exceeds 38.5°C, in addition to daily care and physical cooling, they may take acetaminophen tablets as directed by a physician to help restore normal body temperature.
